I love the way that this office handles each patient with tender loving care! I was brought into a room and sat to have pictures taken of my right eye and then my left eye. This provided proof positive for examining the inner details of my eyes front and back, mainly viewing the condition of the retina. Then I was moved to another room to test my vision by reading letters covering one eye and then the other! The last step was to prepare my left eye for an eye injection of medicine, to prevent deterioration of the vision in that eye! The nurse added numbing drops to my left eye and then the doctor administered a numbing injection. THERE was waiting time in between for the numbness to take effect! I had confidence in DR. SHIENBAUM, because my previous appointments were always successful! a I'm retaining my vision in the left eye which is so wonderful! If you ever notice a slight spot blocking your vision in either eye, IMMEDIATELY call your eye doctor. I waited 11 days before seeing an eye doctor regarding a spot that had appeared blocking my vision in the left eye. I DID NOT know that I had an eye stroke and time is of the essence if you ever have one! If you notice any any vision problem at all, don't hesitate to see an optometrist. Then you may need a retinologist. I think Dr. Gary Shienbaum M.D. and his staff do the very best for each patient! I highly recommend him. I admire him for his dedication to maintaining good vision and promoting good vision in all his PATIENTS!

After experiencing an eye stroke in August, Dr. Shienbaum has been giving me monthly injections. He observed my retina. This time the report was no swelling. He is now using a new medication that lasts longer than a month. This will allow me more time between injections. I may wait 6 weeks as opposed to only 4 weeks. I am a photographer and my eyes are my life. Dr. Shienbaum made me feel at ease and I was very comfortable with him. He was direct, honest and treated me with care and respect. A little too much time waiting in the waiting room. Most doctor’s offices seem to be the same. Scheduling patients every 15 minutes is a bit too close. Doesn’t give doctors enough time with each patient. Should be at half and hour intervals. Just saying.

Usually I am in and out in25 to 40 minutes but on the last visit the office was jammed and i was there for more than 75 minutes. Everyone was very apologetic.

Not a typical visit. Apparently there were two emergencies so for my 10 AM appointment I was not even called until 11 AM. I understand things happen but no one from the practice cared enough to come out and let people know what was going on. My time is as valuable to me as the doctor's time is to him. Do better next time.
